This month FFS features highlights and winning films from Bay Area Youth Media Network's recent festival!  Includes documentaries about language preservation and street art, PSAs about gender equality and transphobia, a stop-motion animated short about cupcakes in love, a short noir about a mysterious ball, and more.  All made by youth filmmakers!

Bay Area Youth Media Network is a consortium of nonprofit organizations that believe in the power of media (film, music, radio, photography, web and technology) as a means to engage youth voice, self-expression and empowerment and to inspire social change (baymn.org).

This months FFS showcases films made by Oakland high school students about issues that are important to them: gang injunctions, the environment, education, health, music, and more!  Includes films in a variety of genres (newscast, music videos, PSAs, and animation), and will feature their award-winning short film on climate change that just received a junior emmy!
